K. Midgie Franz, LicAc, MAOM, NCCAOM Diplomate, Health Coach, and MBA

About - Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Health Coaching! in Keene, NHI began studying Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2007, but my first experience with  acupuncture occurred some years earlier. I had decided to seek treatment for some personal health issues, and during the initial acupuncture sessions I immediately felt relief on three levels – physical, emotional, and spiritual. I was able to enter into a truly deep therapeutic state of relaxation that brought me to a healthier state of well-being.

I received a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA). Before Acupuncture school, I studied Western Herbalism with the Boston School of Herbal Studies and Holistic Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. Prior to my herbal and nutrition studies, I studied Entrepreneurship at Babson College and earned a masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). It had been my dream for many years to run a company that helped people to achieve a state of better health and well-being.

While attending Acupuncture school, I interned at several clinics, including Dimock Community Health Center, Pathways to Wellness and the Elder Service Plan of the North Shore. During this time, I was also a staff member at the NESA Chinese Herbal Dispensary and was able to learn the many intricacies of herbal medicine and treatment. In addition to studying Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, I was fortunate to study “Medical Qigong” with Paul Fraser, MAc, LicAc. and Master Ou, Wen Wei.

Over the years I have been involved in various activities and health-related organizations. After the Boston Marathon Bombing, I volunteered for the Boston Acupuncture Trauma Relief organization. In 2011, I completed a “Healing Community Trauma” training with Acupuncturists Without Borders. In 2010, I traveled to Uganda and volunteered as a trainer for the Pan African Acupuncture Project and in 2007, I traveled to Mali, West Africa and volunteered as a nutrition assistant for the Build a School in Africa Project. In 2017-2020, I opened and ran a Community Acupuncture practice in Arlington, MA.

I am a practitioner because I want to help people discover the level of healing that I have come to know through my own personal experiences. It is at this deeper level where healing can begin. When working with patients, I focus not only on helping them to relax and feel at ease, but I also pay close attention to their personal goals, often including options for diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.

I am committed to making acupuncture more widely acceptable as a viable form of healthcare. It is good medicine. Since I was young, I have been interested in holistic healing. I love movement, music, meditation, and natural living. I practice yoga, West African dance & drumming, hike, ice skate & rollerblade, and garden.

Because this very rewarding and satisfying career matches my own healthy lifestyle, I know that acupuncture school was truly the best decision I ever made.

In the Fall of 2021, I opened a second location in Keene, NH.  I am happy to call the Monadnock region our new home.
