Our Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Precautionary Measures & Thoughts on What to do

Better Life Acupuncture and Namaste Massage are taking precautionary measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of our patients, clients, and colleagues. The health and safety of our community is paramount to us. We want to maintain our clinic as a safe place and continue having it be a place of calm and restoration. Scroll down to see measures we are taking.

We cannot stress enough, if you have any cold symptoms, even if you think it’s a minor cold, please contact us and cancel. If you think you have been exposed to Covid-19 from being associated with a Biogen employee or any other person known to be sick with a flu or cold-like virus, please call us to let us know and cancel your appointment. We will not be charging cancellation fees in this case.

We reserve the right to refuse entry or service to any patient/client exhibiting symptoms of a communicable illness. This is for our protection as well as for our community. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

What You Can Do:

  • Keep Calm, Don’t panic, and Stay Informed. News outlets that you are familiar with or federal and state governments are far more trustworthy than unverifiable social media and many Internet websites. Here is a link to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website on the Covid-19. We recommend checking frequently. It’s updated daily.
  • If you have been exposed to someone with POTENTIAL of having Covid-19, please self-quarantine at home for 14 days – as recommended by the CDC.
  • If you have a fever, flu-like symptoms, or even cold-like symptoms, please stay home.
  • If you have traveled to any country on the CDC’s Level 3 Travel Health Notice list (as of today, those are China, Italy, Iran, and South Korea), please allow 14 days after leaving that country before coming in for treatment.
  • Wash your hands with soap & water for at least 20 seconds. Lather up in between the fingers and tops and don’t forget between the index finger and thumb.
  • Train yourself to avoid touching your face, especially the mouth, nose, and eyes. If you do, follow the hand washing protocol or use hand sanitizer.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow rather than your hands. If you do sneeze or cough on your hands or a tissue, wash your hands with hot water and soap for 20 seconds (or use hand sanitizer > 60%) discard the tissue, as soon as possible.
  • Call your doctor if you feel sick. Be mindful that showing up unannounced puts additional burden on the healthcare system. However, if you have an emergency, go to the doctor.
  • Remember that the virus is more dangerous to older people. It is important to keep them safe. If you are caring for them, do not cough or sneeze near them. Wear a mask, or keep at least 6 feet distance and limit your time with them to < 20 minutes. Wear gloves.
  • To reduce the likelihood of infection, avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces.

In order to take good care of your immune system, we recommend:

  1. Maintain a good diet – include good sources of Vitamins B, C, & D, Zinc, & Calcium, and organic mushrooms. Talk to Jess or Midgie about what are good sources.
  2. Supplement your diet with Nutritional Supplements & Herbal Medicine – again, see Jess or Midgie for details.
  3. Sleep – get plenty of it. It has unbelievable healing and restorative benefits.
  4. Reduce Sugar – Excess sugar depresses the Immune System. Try to stay under 25g/day.
  5. Stay Calm – Breathe, Move & Laugh – some ideas: do yoga (tons of online instruction - some free & some not), meditate, or go outside for a walk in NATURE.

What We Are Doing:

  • We are sanitizing hard surfaces and all doorknobs several times each day.
  • We have hand sanitizers that are above 60% in all our rooms and our waiting area.
  • We will continue to use alcohol (>70% solution) to sanitize directly before needling.
  • We will sanitize all devices (cell phones, iPads, etc.) when you provide your signature for a credit card payment.
  • If you are coughing we will provide you with a facemask and ask you to wear it.
  • Cancellation fees will be waived if due to illness.
  • We request when you arrive, please wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with hot water and soap in the bathroom down the hall before your session.

If you are interested in learning about herbs or nutritional supplements, please see Jess or Midgie. We do have some immune system products for sale in our office, however the supply is becoming limited. Midgie is providing herbal medicine consultation service over the phone ($50 for 30 minutes). To book an Herbal Consultation, click here or contact Midgie directly.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We wish everyone abundant health.
