ABOUT JANINE PTASZEK, M.S., L.Ac.

Janine Ptaszek has been interested in Chinese medical theory since she went to Japan for a year as a high school exchange student.  Her interest deepened while studying in her 20’s with a Taoist monk, trained at the famous Hua Shan monastery in China.  She decided to enter acupuncture school after treatment by Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation Taoist priest of the Complete Reality and Jade Purity sects, and upon the urging of Traleg Rinpoche, her Tibetan Buddhist meditation teacher. 

She graduated from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Anthropology, and received her M.S. from the Swedish Institute School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, where she studied Classical Chinese Medicine with Jeffrey Yuen and others. 

Janine is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the state of New York.  Her goal is to practice acupuncture with compassion and insight, treating the individual to treat the condition.

She believes that the wisdom of thousands of years of Classical Chinese medical theory and practice successfully may be used to treat people in this society today.
